Imagining Angels

 

Imagining Angels by Canadian Arts Productions is an entertaining documentary about an ongoing project to create a new chamber opera. It features original music by composer Jeff Smallman and beautiful performances by sopranos Jocelyn Zelasko and Tara Sievers-Hunt.

 

The documentary premiered at the Windsor International Film Festival in the fall of 2014 where it received many accolades. It was also selected to screen at the prestigious Toronto Short Film Festival in 2015.

 

"The musicians celebrate the artistic accomplishments, challenges and conflict of two women who were celebrated artists of the the mid 20th century: Pat Sturn, a portrait photographer and Emilia Cundari, an opera singer who achieved international acclaim and success.
